Alumni Interview #5 – Jessica Bryant

What Session where you in?
Incendiary 07/08

Most memorable War College moment?
There were so many! I will share one good happy moment, and one hard moment. Watching a neighbour of mine being sold for the night to a guy by her boyfriend was a hard thing to witness. It really reminded me of why I was down there, and what I was fighting against. It just broke my heart. Now for the good one. It’s really hard to pick…So I will say when I met Grace. Technically this was before War College, but it was one of the reasons I decided to go to War College. She, along with members of the 614 community were celebrating her graduation from addictions treatment. It was so beautiful hearing her story, and all the things she overcame and all the ways in which the Lord helped her through. What a great thing it was to be a part of! She was so happy, and full of life.

Favourite Class?
I would say Biblical Interpretation. It was a great class where we could really learn about God’s word, and the lessons we learnt applied to all the other classes.

If you were reunited with your session, what would you say?
I love you guys. So much. I am so blessed to have you in my life.
Actually, I’ve kept in contact with a majority of my session, and I live very close to some of them as well.

What are you doing now?
I’m still a part of the 614 community. I also work for the Salvation Army, in one of the shelters they run, as well as I am still very involved in my home corps.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
Where ever it is that God puts me. Either still here, being a part of 614 doing what I’m doing, or possibly married and off to Training College. It all depends on God, and his timing.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?
To read people’s minds. Definetly. For two reasons: one, the superficial one, so I can know what they think about me.. and two: could you imagine what a great evangelistic tool that would be?!? You would know exactly how the person is reacting, and know exactly what they need to hear!

If you were superman, what injustice would you fight first?
Thats a tough one. Probably Human Trafficking.

Why should our readers apply to The War College?
Because it will change their lives. It is an incredible experience, like no other. It will challenge their beliefs, and ultimatley strengthen them as well as give them so many precious memories.
